The L-25GI, L-35GI and L-45GI gas injection pumps retain all of the advantages of the L-series circulation pumps; an impeller that resists jamming and improves performance, and a design that has overall greater strength. In addition, the L-series gas injection pumps have much larger and stronger components throughout. The shaft assembly itself is four times stronger than a conventional shaft and impeller, both because of its greater size and the fact that being threadless, it has no weak points.

The clamp for the gas injection tube features a simple, rugged design that lends itself to easy tube installation and removal. A three-inch injection tube is standard on both the L-35 and L-45 models. This allows higher gas flows at lower pressures. The increased tube wall thickness also means longer life. The new ceramic base bearing ring features a high performance ceramic which is more wear-resistant than bearings on previous molten metal pumps.

Since this is an open-top pump, there is no need for daily hot cleaning under the baffle plate. High performance ceramic sleeves, non-wetting coatings, and Metaullics' ZX grade graphite are used to further increase shaft/impeller life.

When the pump finally does need to be rebuilt, the job is fast and easy and only the parts that are worn out need to be replaced. Altogether, these gas injection pumps are the perfect match for severe conditions that are too demanding for conventional pumps.

Metaullics has also refined the basic impeller technology by developing a six-barrel impeller. This provides smoother operation and limits the size of solids that can enter the pump. It is well-suited to gas injection applications and allows for equivalent or higher gas injection rates than the M-series pumps they replace.

The six-barrel impeller cannot fill-up with rocks and oxides as conventional "bird cage" impellers are prone to do. With solids less likely to jam the pump, there is less chance of torsional failure, and performance is constant over time.

The one piece shaft coupling and pin is the strongest and easiest to use in the industry. It is located above the motor mount for cool operation and easy access. With the new coupling system, shaft replacement has never been easier.
